So im still in season 1 episode 7 (no spoilers please) and I saw the ESSIE MCGOWAN part which exactly look like Laura LOL , at first I thought it was Laura's background story or some sort.

Not Laura's backstory, but perhaps one of her ancestors. Or, it could just be Mad Sweeney projecting Laura's image on Essie in his memories because she reminds him of Essie. Or a combination of both? The show has left it open for us to speculate.
